I’m having pretty hard crashing dsl problems this past week, which a tech can’t physically suss out until Wed. I have come to a not very nice realization thanks to all this: My book (and my Freelance life) relies Entirely on the Internet. :O
And I can’t change anything about that, because it is our Reality. I could run down to Starbucks if desperate, but unsecured lines is not my idea of smart, nor is trying to do my business in a coffee shop atmosphere terribly comfortable to me. So this intangible thing full of really Important, irretrievable data is so much poof and smoke when I’m unable to find a portal and just make my Important stuff work for me.
Not cool. Is it too late to become a farmer and just rely on weather and our horrible world economy?
I hope everyone enjoyed their Holiday weekend, and if you hadn’t one of those, then a very good weekend all the same. I am going to do real life things while in Withdrawal and figuring out my dependancy relationship to the Net. I do have to rely on it for Work, for making some kind of living. That’s our future.
Now to send this before it all crashes again. Take care everyone!
