…The Charm School home has been updated with the archiving (samples of, really), of Charm School 2 and 3!

(I still need to find the files for CS 1.  Oh where oh where have those little pages gone).

The presentation format?  Flipping Book, which I’m totally going to endorse.  In the effort to present Charm School via the ‘photo blog’ format (the kind of slideshow format professional photographers use), and yet still have it feel like a Book, let’s just say that trying to find a solid app nearly had me in despair.  (And then I comforted myself with homemade rice pudding, but that’s beside the point).

So after chucking 2 ‘highly rated’ wordpress slideshow plugins I went with Flipping Book in the wee, wee hours of last night.  It’s not just a really enjoyable (and rather Delightful, I must say), interface for readers, but it also has a great archiving system.  Make a gallery, upload the files, make a book, eventually find the button to put your pages in proper order, enter parameters for size of pages, background, zoom, etc, and VOILA/PRESTO/MAGICO!!!  Wow, a virtual book!!!

The background can also be set to any kind of texture (by me, btw, not by you), like a nice wood tabletop, or maybe a space console, or a Bearskin Rug (rrrr), but I went with something more abstract (and possibly distracting).

OK, enough of the tech talk.  Just wanted to say Flipping Book, so far it’s solid, I like what I’m making with it, and so far no foreseeable headaches unless I break it or the next WordPress software update breaks it.

Also, I should add that I don’t know how many pages Flipping Book can handle, like say a 48 pp book.  So if you try that, let me know.

And also let me know ANY concerns/problems/loading problems.  I’ll probably return to any uploaded book posts at some point and put in helpful story Synopses and such, but not right now.

Next: probably test a helpful looking retail plugin for artists.  Then, I really want to go back to making NEW stuff, man!!

Anticipation!!! Excitement!!!  GLEE!!!
